CollegeHumor Launches Weekly Comedy ‘Fatal Decision’ On Verizon’s Go90

Josh Mullen is a badly paid and under-appreciated IT support technician who doubles as an action hero in his very own TV show, which is full of guns, explosions and super-villains. Oh, and also the occasional co-worker unwittingly walking into a scene. Mullen is filming his show in his office, during work hours, where he frequently gets kicked out of conference rooms while the cameras are rolling.

That’s the premise behind “Fatal Decision,” a new scripted comedy that CollegeHumor’s TV production arm Big Breakfast is exclusively launching on Verizon’s mobile G090 video service. The show soft-launched last week, with new episodes being posted every Wednesday, and a scheduled total run of 52 episodes.

“Fatal Decision” is loosely based on a web series that CollegeHumor did back in 2008. The remake stars Zach Reino in the leading role, as well as Zeke Nicholson, Pam Murphy and Andrew Pifko, and comes with celebrity cameos from Geoffrey Arend, Jake Busey, MC Gainey, Christina Hendricks, Nathalie Kelley, Eric Roberts, Tom Sizemore, and Reginald Veljohnson.

Verizon launched G090 as a mobile-focused free video service in October. At launch, Go90 had a catalog of about 8000 TV shows and clips, including exclusive shows from Vice, AwesomenessTV and Endemol Beyond USA. CollegeHumor is also contributing some of its catalog content to the platform, and has committed a total of ten new clips to Go90 every month.

However, even with the Go90 deal, most of CollegeHumor’s audience remains on YouTube, where the IAC-owned comedy powerhouse has now amassed more than four billion views. “While CollegeHumor has been fortunate to pursue a variety of distribution opportunities, YouTube remains at the core with a primary AVOD window going to that platform,” said CollegeHumor general manager  Shane Rahmani, adding: “We also syndicate to partners including Vessel, DailyMotion, CondeNast Entertainment, Samsung, Comcast’s Watchable, Verizon’s go90 and more.”
